A Day in JP

JP, as in, Jamaica Plain (we can say JP with authority now that we've *lived* there for 5 whole days). After a day downtown we had some down time at a neighborhood playground. This was our daily walk from the bed and breakfast to Scott's house. It was about five blocks and we did it so many times I think even Lu could have done it on her own (but she didn't . . . just in case you're wondering HOW bad of a mom I am :)

Little Girl, Big Guns

On our last day in Boston (I know, I'm posting pictures out of chronological order. Sorry), we did the Freedom Trail backwards, starting at the USS Constitution or Old Ironsides. Here's Lu contemplating the pure power one of these guns would have produced.
On deck.
There's the frigate in the background, the oldest commissioned ship in the world.Scott and Lu on the gun deck below being silly.Ewwwwwww. A zerbet! Scoooooooootttt!

Boston Swan Princess

Twirling.
So, I think that title covers just about everything. Lutece and I returned from our trip to Boston on Saturday having had a lovely time with Scott and Catherine and Grandma Terry. Here are the pictures of the dress Courtney requested. Lutece *loves* the dress. I don't think there's a chance of your getting it back Courtney.
Lutece thought she was the first one to ever think of sitting on Mrs. Mallard's back. Uh-huh. This photo is courtesy of Scott. We walked around the public garden, rode the swan boat, and generally did the Make Way for Ducklings thing. Not such a great picture of me, but Dolly doesn't look very good either. She's hiding her face. She did, however, see nearly all the sights in Boston, having been dragged around the entire city. After the Public Garden and Boston Common, we headed to the Boston Children's Museum. Here's a picture of Grandma and Lu out front. And all that was just the first day. I'll post more pictures from the trip tomorrow. And, as a side note, while Phx and Stayc had a wonderful time at home, there is no photographic proof of it. We'll just have to take Stayc's word for it.

The Three Dwarves

SillyGoofy
Sneaky

Those were all dwarves, right? Phx got a haircut yesterday, thanks to yours truly. Today he ran into the living room yelling "I go to Ballet!" And tonight in his personal prayer he said, "Thank you for Ariel. Thank you for shark. Thank you for little fish." You guessed it. We watched The Little Mermaid today. I'm so ashamed.

New (and Old) Acquisitions

Alas, the remodeling of Phx's room that was originally planned for this summer was usurped by various acquisitions, new and old, great and greater. Here is Phx showing off my personal favorite. Our lovely new fridge. We love it. And our ice cream has ceased to revert to its original liquid form. Here is Phx still modeling the fridge but saying, "My arm stuck Mommy." It's ok, he came out of the situation unharmed.
And then there's the piano. This acquisition was slightly cheaper, being, well, free. At first I thought it was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen and refused to allow it in my home. But I repented and now it's growing on me. Despite it's orange-ish tone, it's not so bad. And, let's face it, free is free and music is wonderful.

No more pictures Mom

It's a painful life, I know. Having your parents hover over you all the time. Always doing things for you. At your beck and call at all hours of the day. How does she TAKE it??
Ahhhhhh. But then there's that.
