Bonk

Whenever Phoenix gets hit on the head or bumps into anything now, he says "Bonk," and pats his head. He must have gotten bumped in the back of his head for this picture. Other new words?: coocoo (cookie); oote (Lutece); go, go, go (always in threes); pease (please) . . . and so many more.

Bundling Up

It's getting chilly here in Kentucky . . . It would seem that winter has finally arrived. Lu bundled up this morning for preschool, determined to zip up her jacket on her own.

Lutece in her lovely new sweater. She loves that it has a "collar." This is the face we are currently getting for "Cheese." It's improving.

Helping in the Kitchen

Don't I wish he were helping! No, he's just dipping his pear in some yogurt. He's a constant disaster waiting to happen. But seriously . . . look at that face!

Holiday Morning

Alas, everyone is gone. Lutece may be more verbal about it, but Phoenix misses you all too. I got several good ones of Ted and Phoenix, but I liked this one the best.

Eating oranges and reading the newspaper with Grandma. What could be better? Phoenix had his 15-month doctor's visit and shots yesterday . . . a month and a half late. He's slimming down these days. He's still 90% for height, but only 80% for weight. All that running is finally paying off.

Grandma & Lu (oh, and Dolly)

Lutece misses family and still brings it up daily. She pretends like she's Courtney "living in Colorado." The other day she told me she was Courtney and Dad was Aaron and Phoenix was Pene. She has also taken to mentioning Scott in her prayers. "Bless him to come back soon." She misses everyone desperately.

Don't Mess with the Guy with the Wand

He's gotten over the wand thing. It was a phase. Or maybe Lutece is just hiding it better now.

Yaaaah, yaaaahhh, yaahhh, yaaaahhhh!

All dressed up with noone to play with. I forgot to mention in the last post that the MOST favorite toys were really the aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. with whom to play. After dropping off Scott at the airport yesterday, Lu sighed, "Sooooo sad. All of our family is gone."

Christmas Morning

Lu was excited to find that Santa had delivered exactly what she'd asked for and MORE! Note to self though (or to Santa, as it were), don't get children MORE than what they asked for. The cradle is getting used, the high chair (the "more" part), not so much. Lu's favorite toys 2 weeks later?: DRESS-UP stuff; Laurie Berkner CD (gets played everyday and is now on my new Ipod--incidentally, MY favorite toy); paper dolls (thank-you Eleanor!); any and all books; pop-up tent (ugg); My Little Ponies; and, as always, plastic food!

After spending a copious amount of time at Thanksgiving dragging Stephen and Ben's dogs around, we decided Phoenix could use some of his own. Luckily, family had decided the same thing. By the end of the day, Phoenix had gotten a bear and two dogs. Favorite toys nearly 2 weeks later? (Don't be offended if your present is not listed . . . no doubt it will become a favorite later on): ball-rolling machine; Alligator book; bear (hmmm . . . now that I think about it, where have the two dogs gone? I need to find those); Lutece's paper dolls (mostly for destruction purposes); Lutece's bags and necklaces (hee, hee); soccer ball; and lest we forget, the pop-up tent!
